An unusually long table and benches, made from single trunks of oak, like the ship masts, unfurling on the full length of the southern side of Rogoz wooden church (built in the 17th c), in Lapus Country/ Maramures. The portal of the 1717 built Surdesti wooden church in Maramures. It looks modernist nearly in its design, a testimony of the high level of artistry of the local 17h and 18th c old master woodcarvers. On the pediment one can see the outline of a pseudo-Wallachian ornate keel arch, which comes form the Moldavian Gothic, influent in that region, which used to be the home of the founders of the Principality of Moldavia from over the mountains. #surdesti #woodenchurch #portal #wallachian #moldavian #maramures #southeasteurope #casedeepoca #valentinmandache
