I endeavour through this series of periodic articles to inspire appreciation of the historic houses of Romania, a virtually undiscovered, but fascinating chapter of European architectural history and heritage.

If you plan acquiring or selling a historic property in Romania or start a renovation project, I would be delighted to advise you in sourcing and transacting the property, specialist research, etc. To discuss your particular plan please see my contact details in the Contact page of this weblog.

  • I want to congratulate your great work, Valentin. I have been to Romania several times and I have always been fascinated with the architecture in Bucharest. I have in the past looked for books explaining the what I am seeing, but I never found one in English. I don’t even know if there are such books in Romanian, not that my wife would translate them for me. I’m glad I signed up for your emails. Anyway, next time I am in Bucharest, I hope I can have a private tour. I’ll be in touch. Best wishes and keep up the great work.
