Palace of Diocletian seen from Split bay

Visiting the Palace of Diocletian in Split has been the highlight of my June 2023 Dalmatia Study Trip; a place of such a pivotal importance in world’s history, and also in architectural history. Split old town is a Mecca of architecture of finest quality spanning millennia. I filmed the palace from the ferry, which was taking me across the bay, back to my base in Trogir, another ancient site endowed with mind-blowing architectural gems.

I endeavour through this series of periodic articles to inspire appreciation of the historic houses of Romania, a virtually undiscovered, but fascinating chapter of European architectural history and heritage.
