One of a very few instances of Moorish revival style architecture of Bucharest. Built in the 1900s, now is in a bad state of repair, unloved and ignored, as is typical of the post-communist inhabitants of Romani’a capital. Lahovary Sq area; partially panoramic photo. #moorishrevival #architecturephotography #architecturehistory #bucharest #balkans #southeasteurope #casedeepoca

A Little Paris style house built in the 1900s, in Plantelor area of Bucharest, which can be easily brought to its former glory through renovation/ restoration works by skilled craftsmen, builders and historic architecture consultants, all practically absent on the Romanian scene of period building projects. #littleparis #architecturephotography #renovationproject #bucharest #balkans #southeasteurope #casedeepoca
The servant’s’ quarters of a Bucharest’s Little Paris style mansion of the La Belle Epoque period. The structure has an ample loft with many air vents for storing meat products in winter, before the era of the fridge. Fashion in late antiquity at about 75 miles away from what is now Bucharest: fresco in a 4th c tomb in the town of Silistra , the old Roman Durostorum, on the right bank of the Danube, in Bulgaria. Bucharest was in a region called then by the Romans as Terra Deserta, an empty space crisscrossed by barbarian horsemen. Not much has changed, as mentality goes, I can say. #lateantiquity #durostorum #silistra #romantomb #balkans #southeasteurope #casedeepoca
